Rockabilly II

As you can tell from the picture, this mural is in Selmer, Tenn. It was painted by a locally grown artist.

Brian Tull spent months working on this piece of art that pays tribute to the musical heritage of our community.  Selmer lies on the intersection of Highways 45 and 64. Highway 45, also known as Rockabilly Highway, has been a thoroughfare for musical greatness for years. With Carl Perkins coming from Jackson, Tenn. and Elvis from Tupelo, Miss., you know that famous feet have tread this soil. As a matter of fact, Elvis once performed in a school gym less than ten miles from where this mural stands.

I understand that not everyone is a fan of rockabilly music, but with the musical heritage that our community has it would be a shame not to remember it.
